Gehrig Kniffen's journey into hip-hop was not a linear one, but rather an expedition filled with twists and turns. G grew up heavily focused on sports, primarily basketball and baseball. This passion took him to various places such as Santa Cruz, CA, Weed, CA and Dallas, TX. But once the dream of playing basketball had run out Gehrig turned to something he had always been very passionate about. Music. Even when his main focus was athletics, Gehrig was goofing around and freestyling with friends in high school. Then his freshman year of college he began releasing songs on SoundCloud under the pseudonym Gehrighashellabars. This was closer to a comedic bit than that of an attempt from an aspiring artist. At this point there was no real ambition within making music, it was just something he loved doing. 

In 2020 the pandemic hit and Gehrig locked in with his good childhood friend Tommy Howard AKA Tommy de Silva and began making songs together. The two gentlemen then recruited Steven AKA Dope E to start making songs with them as they had all gone to school together back in the day and knew Steven had serious beats just sitting in his computer. The three guys got to work and over 2020 and 2021, stockpiled a lot of songs, developed their sound, spent a bunch of time goofing off together and this eventually resulted in the formulation of the Green Room. 

Since then, the Green Room added Mercutio X, the other half of the tandem group 'Lethal Session' with Gehrig. Each of their debut albums was the Lethal Session tape. After that, in January 2023, Gehrig also dropped his debut solo album titled 'Gehr Bear' after his childhood nickname. G continues to develop his skills and spend countless hours writing rhymes, recording songs, making content and playing live shows.
